In the surplus game sometimes you get a lot that does really well and is better than expected, and sometimes you get a lot like this, where you just have to take a loss and get rid of it. Our loss is your gain…….. These are brand new French Double buckle boots, but they have been stored damp over the years and have 2 main problems. The first is the outside is covered with mildew (this cleans off well) and the second is that the hardware is corroded and the eyelets may have fallen out. Over the last 50 years the Brass eyelets reacted with the chemicals in the leather and cause them to corrode and fall out, any shoe repair shop has ones that can replace them. No laces. I have sizes 7-10 in, choose your size and I will do my best to fill it, you will get at least within one size. For those not familiar with the French boots they are made of a real high quality thick leather, nothing like today’s reproductions, and are very strong…. These have plenty of wear left in them. The leather is strong, stiff and what you would expect from a real military boot of the era. If you have the time and patience to clean these up and fix them, here is a low cost pair of boots for reenacting, use them as field boots, extras for display, or loaners for new guys. At this price you can’t go wrong! No returns, no exchanges on these! Our loss is your gain! |
